For the improvement of a certain section of STATE ROUTE 2008, Sec 670 in Wayne COUNTY, Honesdale Borough. The location of the project is as follows: From a point approximately 1 mile North from the intersection with SR 0006 (US Route 6) along SR 1001 to the intersection with Louie Drive at Segment 7010 Offset 0000 (STA 10+00) to (SR 2008 - Seg 0012 Off 0000 to Seg 0012 Off 0066, Carley Brook Bridge) to Segment 7014 Offset 0368 (STA 18+36), with a total work area length of 726 feet (0.138 miles). The project consists of the replacement of an existing state-owned structure, SR 2008, located on the municipal road Louie Drive, carrying traffic over Carley Brook with roadway improvements to the shoulders and the installation of guide rail. The existing single-lane 29' long encased I-beam structure will be replaced with a spread box beam structure on integral abutments. The proposed structure and approach roadway will adhere to PennDOT Publication 13M, Design Manual Part 2, Table 1.7, which will be comprised of two (2) - 9'-0" to 11'-0" travel lanes and 2'-0" to 4'-0" shoulders. The proposed horizontal alignment will mostly match the existing condition which meets a 25 MPH design speed for a posted speed limit of 25 MPH. The approach horizontal curve will need to be modified to accommodate the new approach slab for the replacement structure. The vertical geometry will be realigned to meet current design criteria. Other work includes excavation, full depth bituminous paving bridge approach, E & S control measures, temporary traffic signal, temporary bridge/ run-around road, permanent signing, pavement markings, landscaping and other miscellaneous construction work.
