The work under this project consists of furnishing all equipment, superintendence, labor, skill and material necessary for the construction of an approximately 17,500 SF fire station located at 2409 Shipyard Road, Chesapeake, Virginia, 23323, and performing all work necessary for such construction, in accordance with the Drawings and Specifications and in accordance with the Contract Documents. Questions regarding this project should be submitted in writing via email to LaChelle Elliott, lwelliott@cityofchesapeake.net . All questions are due by 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 11, 2021 Bid Security in the amount of five percent (5%) of the Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. Contractor registration in accordance with Title 2.2 Chapter 43, Code of Virginia is required. Withdrawal of Bids shall be subject to and in accordance with Chesapeake City Code Section 54-63(6) and the Contract Documents. The City reserves the right to waive minor non-substantive errors in the Bid, to reject any/or all bids, to award any Bid in whole or in part and award the Bid considered to be in the best interest of the City. The City also reserves the right to negotiate with the lowest responsive, responsible Bidder should Bid exceed available funds by no more than 5%, in accordance with Chesapeake City Code Section 54-63(7). If City Hall is officially closed to the public due to inclement weather conditions or other unforeseen events, bids and proposals will be due at the same time advertised on the next regular business day, and bid openings will be rescheduled to such time and date. The City of Chesapeake does not discriminate in the solicitation or awarding of contracts on the basis of race, religion, faith-based organizations, color, national origin, age, disability or any other basis prohibited by state or federal law. The undersigned Contractor agrees to commence Work within ___5 days____ Days after the date of Notice to Proceed and further agrees to reach Substantial Completion of all Work under this Contract within __540 days______ Days from the date of the Notice to Proceed and to reach Final Completion of all Work under this Contact within __570 days____ Days from the date of the Notice to Proceed.
