Construction works for extension of subway line two ("orange") in Laval and Montreal. The scope of the project includes construction of an approximately 10.1 km tunnel with five stations on the territory of Saint-Laurent. The stations will be located at the Technoparc, near the A-40, as well as at the Bois-Franc, Le Ruisseau and Montpellier stations of the future Metropolitan Express Network (REM). In the future the line may be extended to Pierre-Elliott-Trudeau international airport. TIMELINE: Project is preliminary and in a conceptual development phase. The Quebec Government continues working on the orange subway line extension project and opened, in summer 2022, a project office for work scope finalization. Preliminary studies relating to the determination of the best solution to implement in a fifteen-kilometre corridor that will connect the Côte-Vertu subway station in Montreal to Dagenais Boulevard in the axis of Chomedey Boulevard are underway. The opportunity file report submission to the owner is anticipated in late 2023. Scope of work, timelines of the project development and its budget are being finalized. Note. Previous project of a light-rail line construction (REM) in that direction was abandoned by the owner.
